Invariant Measures for Multiparameter Diagonalizable Algebraic Actions - a Short Survey
on the unit interval, where n is any natural number. In order to make this map continuous, we think of it as a map on the 1-torus T = R/Z. This system is very well understood, and it has many closed invariant sets and many invariant probability measures. Indeed, let τ : Σ = {0, . . . , n− 1} → R/Z be the map τ(a1, a2, . . . ) = ∑∞ i=1 n ai. Then any shift invariant probability measure ν on Σ, f...
متن کاملJoinings of Higher Rank Diagonalizable Actions on Locally Homogeneous Spaces
We classify joinings between a fairly general class of higher rank diagonalizable actions on locally homogeneous spaces. In particular, we classify joinings of the action of a maximal R-split torus on G/Γ, with G a simple Lie group of R-rank ≥ 2 and Γ < G a lattice. We deduce from this a classification of measurable factors of such actions, as well as certain equidistribution properties.
متن کاملSeparating Invariants for Arbitrary Linear Actions of the Additive Group
We consider an arbitrary representation of the additive group Ga over a field of characteristic zero and give an explicit description of a finite separating set in the corresponding ring of invariants.
متن کاملOn Measures Invariant under Diagonalizable Actions – the Rank One Case and the General Low Entropy Method
We consider measures on locally homogeneous spaces Γ\G which are invariant and have positive entropy with respect to the action of a single diagonalizable element a ∈ G by translations, and prove a rigidity statement regarding a certain type of measurable factors of this action. This rigidity theorem, which is a generalized and more conceptual form of the low entropy method of [Lin2, EKL] is us...

This paper presents two enumeration techniques based on Hilbert functions. The paper illustrates these techniques by solving two chessboard problems.
